Web-Docs offers electronic delivery of journal articles and conference papers from the MIT Libraries directly to you!

  • Articles are scanned and delivered to the desktop via the Web as high-quality images in PDF for printing.
  • Central information units can order documents to be delivered back to them or directly to their end users.
  • Saves delivery time over mail or express courier - articles arrive as soon as they are transmitted over the Internet.
How do I order a document?

Order Journal Articles and Conference Papers

Go to the link above and select "Web-Docs" as your shipping method. Our order form is encrypted for secure transfer of credit card information.

What is the cost? • $20 per article

How long will it take? • 2-4 business days
•  rush service available (subject to item availability)
What can I request?

• Journal articles and conference papers
• For MIT Theses and Technical Reports go to: Order MIT Theses or Order MIT Technical Reports/Working Papers
• Articles must be in the collection of the MIT Libraries - search: Barton: MIT Libraries' catalog

Will I need special software? Adobe Acrobat Reader must be installed on your computer to view PDF files. It is available for free at the Adobe Website.
How does it work?

• When your order is ready, you will be alerted by an email message containing a link to the Web-Docs server; you will be given a password which will allow you to retrieve your PDFs.
• Your documents will remain available on the Web-Docs server until you have viewed them five times or for a period of two weeks, whichever comes first.
