Guidelines:
- Use of the Barker media room is limited to MIT affiliates and their guests.
- The media room seats 15-18 comfortably.
- Use of media is subject to copyright law:
- Items with public performance rights (PPR) may be viewed by groups greater than four (4) people.
- Items without public performance rights may be viewed:
- By groups greater than four (4) people if for a course and instructor, guest lecturer, or teaching assistant (TA) is present
- By up to four (4) people otherwise
- Items may not be copied without written consent of copyright holder

- No food is allowed in the Barker media room; covered drinks are allowed.
- To reserve the Barker media room, ask at the Barker service desk
- Reservations may be made for 1, 2, or 3 hours, and may be renewed if there are no other pending reservations.
Priority for using the Barker media room:
- MIT students, faculty, and staff, and their guests with a reservation, to view material.
- Groups of three (3) or more MIT individuals without a reservation, to view material.
- MIT individuals, to view video material when no individual viewing stations are available in Barker.
- Groups of two or more MIT individuals for group study when not in use by others for viewing media.
How to schedule:
- You may reserve the media suite by visiting the Barker Service Desk (10-500), calling (617.253.5661), or emailing mediaroom@mit.edu.
- Reservation blocks of 1-3 hours are available and may be extended if no prior reservations exist.
- Groups of up to 15 people can be accommodated.
Circulation policy for Barker media:
- Barker videos circulate for 7 days and may be renewed. Borrowed materials may be subject to copyright restrictions on group viewing.
