Historical note
Phi Sigma Kappa was founded nationally in 1873, and the Omicron Chapter at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was founded in 1902. The Alumni Association of Omicron was founded in 1919 to secure permanent housing for the chapter which up until then had been renting a series of houses in Boston. On May 16, 1925, the alumni bought the townhouse at 487 Commonwealth Avenue which has been the chapter's home ever since. In 1982 the adjoining townhouse at 485 Commonwealth Avenue was added to the chapter.
Omicron Chapter alumni include Paul Gray, class of 1954 (president emeritus of MIT), and John Sununu, class of 1961 (former governor of New Hampshire).
