The publication Reports to the President is a compilation of the annual reports of academic and administrative units of the Institute summarizing the year’s accomplishments and introducing future plans. Included in some years are reports from the secretary, treasurer, and chancellor of the Institute. Collectively, the volumes represent the starting point for any research into the history of the Institute.
A more detailed description can be found in the MIT Libraries’ digital repository, Dome, which houses PDF versions of the printed reports. The reports can be searched in Dome.
A complete collection of MIT's Reports to the President, dating from 1871, is housed in the Institute Archives, Room 14N-118.
