Happy New Year from ARCHNET!

Happy New Year from all of us who work on Archnet.org.  We wish all  our users, donors and contributors a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2020!

2019 was an eventful year for us. Archnet moved to a new platform and a new provider in 2020 without causing significant disruptions to our users.  In addition we made available records for over 6,500 images, 170 new sites, 90 publications, and 45 authorities.

We brought you documentation of the shortlisted and recipient projects in the 14th-cycle of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. We also launched new collections of abstracts from Cities as Built and Lived Environments: Scholarship from Muslim Contexts, 1875-2011 and the International Journal of Islamic Architecture, launched a collection highlighting historically significant architecture in Algeria, and added new publications in the Supplements to Muqarnas collection and to the Aga Khan Historic Cities Programme.

2,760,771 pages were viewed between January 1 and December 31, with the Archnet Timeline and our collection of Drawings of Islamic Monuments continuing to be the most accessed pages after the home page and search. See all the most accessed resources of 2019 here.

In the year ahead we will continue working to keep Archnet the most comprehensive online resource devoted to the built environment of Muslim societies, and to make performance enhancements that deliver this content in quickly and in a useful manner.  Visit Archnet and use the contact link to send your suggestions, comments, and ideas.
