Finding Guide for NASA Technical Reports

Step-by-step guide to finding NASA Technical Reports:

  • Search for the report in public NTRS database
    • try simple search for NASA published reports
    • full-text is available for some reports
    • the link "No Digital Version Available" will appear if full-text is not available through NTRS
    • click "No Digital Version Available" to find a Document ID # which can be entered into our online form (see next step)


  • Fill out online form for Aero/Astro Library staff
    • From NTRS citation record, click link "No Digital Version Available" to get Document ID # and input this number into the form (not required)
    • Enter any information you have for the report (even if the report is not indexed in the NTRS database)
    • Aero Library staff will email pdf's from NASA contractor's database if available - MIT only
    • Aero Library staff will locate reports in our physical library collections
    • We will try and respond within 1 business day
