About the Aeronautics and Astronautics Library

Facts about the Aero/Astro Library:

  • Moved to new site summer 2000
  • Physical space : 2000 sq ft. (pre-1998 library: 4000 sq ft.)
  • Serials and monographs: 8500 volumes
  • Journals: 70 subscriptions, ~4000 volumes
  • Serials: 50 subscriptions
  • Theses: 15 years, ~850 volumes
  • Technical Reports: ~30,000 paper volumes, ~400,000 on microfiche
  • Compact Shelving: ~2300 linear feet in two units

Features of the Aero/Astro Library:

  • Every desk provides power and data access, wired to the campus network. PCs and UNIX machines are both available
  • The Library is also a wireless zone. Students can use their laptops in the carrels, the stacks, and the lab just outside the library.
  • Compact shelving is used to shelve most library materials. Only 10% of the collection is stored off site.
