Application for Student Staff Position Form

Many of our jobs will provide an opportunity to learn new skills:

  • work with people or independently
  • provide information to patrons from all over the world
  • assist in diverse media applications
  • use various computer and bibliographic applications
  • handle archival materials
  • work with maps
  • prepare and bind books

Many evening and weekend hours available. Note: the Libraries are open most holidays and during IAP. Competitive hourly rates.

Job Descriptions

Circulation

  • online and manual check-in/check-out of material from the library
  • renewals, filing, etc.
  • working with patrons in person and over the telephone
  • searching for lost material

Stacking

Returning used library materials to their places including books, journals, maps, slides, photographs, microfilm, microfiche, newspapers, technical reports and documents.

Technical Processing and Special Projects

All activities and processes concerned with obtaining, organizing, and processing library materials, including:

  • acquisitions, cataloging, physical processing, organizing and maintaining files or databases
  • picking up material from bookstores
  • interlibrary borrowing
  • maintaining departmental webpages
  • bibliographic searching
  • assisting with special projects
