Research Assistance

"Ask Us!" is a reference help service offerered by the MIT Libraries. Your question will be answered as soon as possible, and no later than 5:00 PM the next business day.

Retrieving Stack Materials

- from the shelves of the library you're in:

Contact the circulation desk of any MIT Library to request a special arrangement. (This may not be available on days when staff is reduced - e.g., on holidays.)

For help with extensive library research, request a library assistant from the MIT Disabilities Services Office, 617-253-1674.

-  online through our Bookpage service (MIT and Harvard only)

Place a hold on an available 4-week loan and it will be ready for pick-up in 1 business day if on the premises, within 2 business days if from another campus library.

- borrowed for you by someone else:
Designated Borrower's Card

Specify another person on your card to borrow materials for you by completing a Designated Borrower form on line or at any MIT Library circulation desk.

 

Photocopying

MIT-Owned Journal Articles | E-reserves | Books

Before using the photocopying service, please obtain a letter of qualification from the MIT Disabilities Service Office

Please mention the letter in your photocopying request.

This service is subsidised by the MIT Disabilities Service Office.

Photocopies of MIT-Owned Journal Articles

For copies of journal articles or conference papers, submit a request

Journal articles will be retrieved and photocopied for you.

Copies of Electronic Course Reserves (e-reserves)

For copies of e-reserves, submit a request

E-reserve documents will be printed for you.

Photocopies of Books

For copies of books, take the materials to be copied to the MIT Libraries’ Document Services department (14-0551).
