Our mission is to provide for the Libraries’ technology needs by

• supporting hardware and software deployed throughout the Libraries for use by staff and patrons
• providing technology training
• advising staff on potential uses of technology in support of their work
• tracking emerging technologies
• communicating and collaborating with MIT’s Information Systems.

• assists in the creation of web pages, web graphics, and site development.
• helps train staff on the application of web style guidelines and the use of Dreamweaver.
• helps to maintain the public and staff web sites and update links.

Mark Diggory, DSpace Systems Manager

As Systems/Production Manager for DSpace@MIT, Mark oversees all production issues with the MIT DSpace installation, including the evaluation of MIT community requirements for new features and functionality. Based on this analysis, Mark works with the Systems and Technology Services team and the Digital Library Research Group to integrate new services on the DSpace@MIT product. As well, this work includes involvement in the larger DSpace Federation, working to coordinate and participate in new development considered advantageous to needs of the MIT community.

  • works to evolve the DSpace@MIT implementation, as well as
    contributing to the development of the DSpace product.

• provides information architecture consulting, web-authoring training, and directs usability testing for web-related projects in the libraries.

Carl Jones, Enterprise Systems Manager

• serves as a resource to the MIT Libraries in the areas of project analysis and project management.
• provides technical expertise to library projects, and performs detailed analysis of projects that have technological components.
• as a senior member of the Technology Services Department and resident technology expert, advises the department head on technological issues.
