Information Resources
Information
Resources encompasses all functions related to acquiring
and managing information resources in support of MIT's education and research
programs. This includes selecting, acquiring, preserving, storing, and providing
bibliographic access to the Libraries' physical collections of books, journals,
manuscripts and archival materials, and a variety of non-print media. In addition,
it includes licensing and managing access to a rapidly growing array of digital
resources.
The Associate
Director for Information Resources is responsible for policy
governing all areas of collection management and for the
allocation and management of the information resources budget.
Activities in support of the collections are carried out
in five Information Resources departments:
