Collection
Management Services
The
Collection Management Services department is responsible
for collection development and management, preservation,
and storage. The collection development and management
activities are carried out in a matrix relationship
with Public Services staff. The department's two sections,
Preservation Services and the Library Storage Annex,
support the Libraries' efforts to maintain and manage
the collections for the benefit of current and future
library users.

Preservation Services Section | Library Storage Annex
The
Library Storage Annex is the MIT Libraries' center for
less-used materials. Approximately 700,000 volumes are
available to users either by delivery request or by
making an appointment to visit the Annex.
In addition to providing services to users, the Annex
coordinates the storage activities of the MIT Libraries.
