
Through the MIT Libraries' website, MIT students and researchers can search over 3 million printed volumes and tap into over 55,000 databases and electronic journals, and a growing number of digital collections.
Library locations offer numerous group study rooms and individual study carrels. Secure 24/7 study spaces are available in two libraries.
The library system also incorporates the Institute Archives and Special Collections, containing many of MIT's founding documents and technical reports, as well as the personal papers of noted faculty members.

The Libraries also manage DSpace@MIT, a digital repository that captures, preserves, and shares MIT's intellectual output with the world. DSpace@MIT currently contains nearly 50,000 items, including MIT theses and the digital works of 62 communities representing groups of MIT faculty and researchers, labs, and centers.
